Performing Arts Project

The Performing Arts Project (a.k.a. "KidsAct") is one of the two spin-off from Mentoring Malaysia.

In KidsAct, our Youth Mentors journey with the teens to learn about stage performances. They are taught improvisations, role-playing, music, dance, puppetry, mime, masks, theatre games and other interesting stage activities. This helps them to connect with themselves and others. Overtime the teens develop acting and stage skills, leadership skills and at the same time are taught about psychological and social knowledge.

Theatre is an expressive art and can be used as a modality for communicating verbal and non-verbal behaviours. By engaging in non-verbal expressive behaviours such as movement, gestures, facial expressions, and vocalization, teens can develop more healthy ways of communicating their thoughts and feelings, while enhancing connections to positive role models and themselves as a person.
